Theresa M. Swiatocha

Theresa M. Swiatocha of Peconic died March 26 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson. She was 81.

She was born Nov. 18, 1930, in Cutchogue to Joseph and Josephine (Mrozek) Lenceski. She married Zignor G. Swiatocha on July 3, 1949.

Ms. Swiatocha was a waitress at the Old Seafood Barge for 15 years and at Claudio’s in Greenport for 25 years. She had been a communicant of Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in Cutchogue and a member of the Sacred Heart Rosary Society.

Predeceased by her husband on Feb. 24, 1996, she is survived by her daughters, Sandra Scott of Chesapeake, Va., Lorraine Blasko of Peconic and Linda Meklenburg and Dawn Grzegorczyk, both of Southold; her siblings, Helen Valkavitch of Torrance, Calif., Frank Lenceski of Orlando, Fla., and Dorothy Markland of El Paso, Texas; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers Edward and John Lenceski and her sisters Mary, Ann and Katherine.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 27, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, March 28, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church by Father Marian Bicz. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart R.C. Cemetery in Cutchogue.
