Chiwana Leggon of Riverhead died March 27 at age 53.

She was born in Greenport April 25, 1958, to Theodore Roosevelt Leggon and Sue Mason.

Ms. Leggon worked as a supervisor at the Suffolk County Board of Elections in Yaphank.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter, Nicole, of Riverhead; her brothers, James and Keith, both of Virginia; her sisters, Marilyn Love and Lu Ann, both of Riverhead; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service was held April 3 at Galilee Church of God in Christ in Riverside, Pastor Dr. Roy L. Pennon Sr. officiating. Arrangements were handled by Reginald H. Tuthill Funeral Home in Riverhead.
