Kerry Philip Heaney

Kerry Philip Heaney, 50, joined his brothers Timothy and Shawn into the loving hands of God on Holy Saturday, April 7, 2012. He was predeceased by Shawn in 1985 and Timothy in 1988.

He is survived by his children, Timothy and Sean Heaney and Michelle and Robert Farruggia. He is also survived by his devoted sister, Maria Heaney O’Callaghan, and her husband, Bernard, of Westfield, N.J.

Kerry was born in Greenport on July 15, 1961, to Bernard and Maria (Mazzocchi) Heaney of Pine Plains, N.Y. Kerry graduated from Greenport High School in 1980 and Technical Careers Institute as a diesel mechanic in 1983.

He was an accomplished high school wrestler, an active Boy Scout leader and Eagle Scout, and a business owner of Heaney Marine Construction. He was most proud of his family.

Visiting hours will take place Thursday, April 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport. The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, April 13, at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes R.C. Church in Greenport, Monsignor Raymond Walden officiating.
