Update: Blackhawk helicopters practice rescheduled
Update: 10:20 a.m.: The Blackhawk helicopters demonstration has been cancelled for today and rescheduled for next Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. Officials said the aircraft training has been rescheduled because of a low cloud ceiling due to weather conditions.

The two New York Army National Guard UH-60 Blackhawk helicopters plan to conduct water bucket training over Sarnoff Preserve Lake in Riverhead, according to a DEC press release.
The helicopters, based out of the Army Aviation Support Facility at Long Island MacArthur Airport in Ronkonkoma, will practice scooping water out of the lake in Bambi Buckets slung under the helicopters and then dumping the buckets back into the water. The training is part of an annual requirement to prepare to fight fires, the DEC said.
The collapsible Bambi Buckets can dump 660 of gallons of water on a fire at a time, the DEC said.
