Meet the Oysterponds school board candidates tonight

The three candidates running for two seats on the Oysterponds school board will make their pitch to the public during a community forum tonight.

The Orient Association will host the gathering at 7 p.m. at Poquatuck Hall in Orient.

Incumbents Linda Goldsmith, who has served for 22 years, and Krista de Kerillis, who has been on the board since 2009, are seeking re-election. Oysterponds parent and Orient resident Alison Lyne is also on the ballot.

Oysterponds is the only North Fork school district with a contested school board race this year.

Orient Association president Venetia Hands asked that anyone with questions for the candidates email them to president@orientassociation.org.

Refreshments will be provided.

The school board contest will be decided on May 15, when new budgets for all local districts will be on the ballot.
