William F. Tyree

William F. Tyree of Cutchogue, co-founder of Osprey’s Dominion Vineyard in Peconic, died June 1 at the age of 82, surrounded by his family.

He was born March 27, 1930, in Valley Stream to Laurence and Lillian Tyree. Formerly of Valley Stream and Old Bethpage, Mr. Tyree was CEO of Tyree Company, chairman of St. Christopher-Ottilie Madonna Heights, a member of Knights of Columbus Marian Council in Cutchogue and board  member of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America.

Survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara (née McKinney) and predeceased by his son Tommy, he is also survived by his children, Billy, Jackie Kos, Larry, Timmy, Bobbi Ross, Stephen and Tammy Kauffman; his siblings, Joseph, Ann Rieger and Pat MacIntyre; 27 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday, June 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, June 3, from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 4, at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick R.C. Church in Southold. Interment will follow at Cutchogue Cemetery.
