North Fork libraries, school districts to get extra state funds

Several local school districts and libraries will receive thousands of dollars in additional state funding, according to an announcement by New York State Senator Kenneth LaValle (R-Port Jefferson) Tuesday.

The extra funds, totaling nearly $1 million for museums, schools, programs and libraries across the First District, will be “separate and apart” from the existing state aid already awarded, according to Mr. LaValle’s statement.

Library Aid:

• Baiting Hollow Free Library – $500

• Cutchogue-New Suffolk Library – $2,200

• Greenport-Floyd Memorial Library – $2,200

• Mattituck Laurel Library – $2,200

• Riverhead Free Library – $2,200

• Shelter Island Public Library – $2,200

• Shoreham-North Shore Public Library – $2,200

• Southold Free Library – $2,200

Arts and Education Aid:

• Children’s Museum of the East End – $10,000

School District Aid:

• Greenport UFSD – $79,000

• Little Flower UFSD – $25,000

• Mattituck School District – $25,000

• Riverhead School District – $50,600

• Southold School District – $158,000
