Kostas Rakkas

Kostas Rakkas of Southold, formerly of Flushing, died Aug. 16 at his home. He was 74.

Born Sept. 18, 1937, in Greece to Nicholas and Athena (Kaloneri) Rakkas, he had been a contractor and a resident of the North Fork for the past 16 years.

Mr. Rakkas is survived by his wife, Elefteria, and siblings in Greece.

The family received friends Aug. 17 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold. The Divine Liturgy was celebrated Aug. 18 by Father Constantine Makrinos at Transfiguration of Christ Greek Orthodox Church in Mattituck. Interment was at Sterling Cemetery in Greenport.
