Cops: Two men charged with DWI in separate incidents

A Lindenhurst man was arrested for driving while intoxicated Wednesday night in Greenport, Southold Town Police said.

Phillip Dreiss, 45, was stopped by police for following another vehicle too closely in his tan van and crossing over the center line, according to the report. He failed several roadside sobriety tests and was found to be intoxicated, police said. Mr. Dreiss was arrested, transported to headquarters, processed and held for arraignment.

•  A Southold man was arrested for DWI at the intersection of route 48 and Bridge Lane in Cutchogue Thursday evening, Southold Town Police said.

Benjamin K. Oliver, 23, of Southold was stopped for failure to maintain his lane of travel and found to be intoxicated, police said. Mr. Oliver was transported to headquarters to be processed and held for arraignment.
