Cops: Drunk driver who hit pedestrian and drove off was at twice the legal limit

The Mattituck woman who police said struck a pedestrian on Love Lane Monday and drove away was tested at twice the legal limit for alcohol, according to a criminal complaint filed with the Town Justice Court.

Susan Cannon, 67, allegedly struck a pedestrian with her 2008 gray Lexus SUV at about 2:45 p.m. and then drove away, according to the complaint.

Southold Town Police found her a short time later at an undetermined location.

Ms. Cannon subsequently failed several roadside sobriety tests and her blood alcohol level was found to be at .15 percent, police said.

Police did not disclose the identity of the pedestrian.
