Mark C. Conklin

Southold resident Mark C. Conklin, formerly of Riverhead, died Oct. 29 at the age of 30.

He was born in Brookhaven June 28, 1982, to Mark K. and Grace (Czygier) Conklin and graduated from McGann-Mercy High School in Riverhead.

He worked as a chef at the Elbow East restaurant in Southold. Family members said he enjoyed sports, especially Jets football.

Mr. Conklin is survived by his wife, Karina (née Vilchez); his father; his mother and her fiancé, Bob Elrose; his sister, Jamie; and his grandmothers, Josephine Conklin of Riverhead and Sophie Czygier of Center Moriches.

Visiting hours took place Nov. 3 and 4 at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead. Funeral services were held Nov. 5 at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Riverhead, with interment at the church cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
