The Oysterponds Board of Education is expected to discuss its annual audit report and teacher contract negotiations at tonight’s regular school board meeting at the elementary school in Orient.

According to the meeting agenda, representatives from the Riverhead-based accounting firm Markowitz Fenelon & Bank will present the district’s annual audit report to the school board at 6:30 p.m.

The Board of Education is then likely to enter into an executive session at 6:45 p.m. to discuss the Oysterponds Teacher Association contract negotiations and should reconvene its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. Over the past year, the school board has been ironing out a new teacher’s contract to replace the agreement that expired June 30, 2011.

The school board’s policy committee will also meet immediately following tonight’s regular school board meeting.
