Letter: Whatever happened to Thanksgiving night?

To the Editor:

I wonder how many remember and regret the passing of the old days, when Thanksgiving Day was spent quietly and reverently and thankfully for home, family, friends and country.

A time when people did not rush through a thoughtfully prepared dinner and our place at the table among loved ones to join in a line for “bargains” sponsored by aggressive merchants who have enticed them away.
