Recap: Southold Town Board meeting

A bevy of big issues are up for discussion at this morning’s Southold Town Board meeting.

The 9 a.m. session begins with a discussion with members of the Town Trustees over what should be done with unpermitted existing structures damaged during Hurricane Sandy. The board will also discuss re-grading town beaches after the storm and the current policy of accepting storm-related debris for free at the Cutchogue transfer station. That policy was slated to expire today.

Also on the agenda is a discussion of the first year’s work of the town’s economic development committee and the purchase of new police vehicles through a grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

The regular meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The Suffolk Times will be live blogging from both meetings.
