Richard A. Wall

Richard A. Wall of Cutchogue and Stuart, Fla., formerly of Garden City, died Dec. 29 at home.

He was born Jan. 25, 1923, in Bayonne, N.J., the eldest child of Richard A. and Mary Estelle (Kearny) Wall. He married his high school sweetheart, Ann (née Doherty), in 1948 following naval service in World War II. Their wedding song, “I’ll be loving you … always,” guided their love and support for each other over 64 years.

His career encompassed 45 years as a senior executive in the retail industry, with the last 20 years as senior vice president of RH Macy & Co. in New York City. He was a member of North Fork Country Club and Stuart Yacht and Country Club. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, Cutchogue. Along with his wife, he was inducted into the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his six children, Seton Ann Scott (James); Shavaun Wall (Michael Semler); Richard A. Wall III of Massachusetts; Robert P. Wall (Beatrice) of New York; Roger J. Wall (Jenai) of Hawaii; and D. Scott Wall (Stephanie) of Connecticut; his sister Alice Wall of New Jersey; 16 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers, Eugene and Robert; and his sister Mary.

Visiting hours will take place Thursday, Jan. 3, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home, 32470 Main Road, Cutchogue (www.northforkfuneralhome.com). A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, Jan. 4, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Main Road, Mattituck. Burial with military honors will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
