Dr. Harold Norman McCullough died Dec. 21, 2012, at his home in Cutchogue. He was 73.

He was born Dec. 22, 1938, in Waterbury, Conn., to Harold and Lillian McCullough and married his fiancée, Linda, in Fairfield, Conn., in 1960. He served in the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1971.

Dr. McCullough was a general surgeon at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport and was on the applicants committee of the American College of Surgeons.

He enjoyed sailing, outdoor sports, radio-controlled model airplanes and spending time with his family, they said.

He is survived by his wife and son Sam, both of Cutchogue; his sons Donald and William, both of Florida; his brother, Ken, of New Mexico; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Interment took place Dec. 28 at Calverton National Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue.
