Ingeborg Babette Frank

Longtime Southold resident Ingeborg Babette Frank died Jan. 2 in Greenport at age 81.

She was born May 15, 1931, in Meerane, Germany, to Babette Karolina (Stock) and Max Alfred Fritzsche. She married James Frank in Erlangen, Germany, on March 22, 1955, and was a homemaker for most of her adult life.

Family members said she enjoyed knitting, gardening and bicycling.

Predeceased by her husband in 2011, Ms. Frank is survived by her sons, Nick Frangopoulos of New Jersey and Nicholas Frangopoulos of New York; her daughter, Stephanie Frangopoulos of New York; and two grandchildren.

The family received visitors Jan. 6 at Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport. A funeral Mass was held Jan. 7 at Sts. Anargyroi and Taxiarhis Greek Orthodox Church in Greenport, followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
