Carol M. Kraebel

Carol M. Kraebel died Jan. 28 at her home in Laurel. She was 83 years old.

Born Aug. 26, 1929, in Queens to Charles and Grace Schaefer, she married George Kraebel in 1948 in Richmond Hill and was a homemaker for most of her adult life.

Ms. Kraebel was a member of the Mattituck Yacht Club, the Red Hat Society and the Homemakers Club.

She loved people, according to family members, and enjoyed cooking and being at the beach.

Predeceased by her husband in 1999 and by two children, George and Kathleen, Ms. Kraebel is survived by her sons Richard, of Southold, Thomas, of Laurel, and William, of Mattituck; her daughter Karen Dinizio of Cutchogue; her sister, Grace Jurgens; her brother, Charles Schaefer; and 10 grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday, Jan. 30, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A service will be held Thursday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Ostrabrama Church in Cutchogue, followed by interment at Southold Presbyterian Cemetery.
