Several hundred supporters of Peconic Bay Medical Center Health braved the wet and foggy weather to attend the annual Candlelight Ball fundraiser held at the Inn & Spa at East Wind in Wading River Friday night.

Hosted by columnist and television commentator Ellis Henican, the ball featured an evening of fine food, dance and music along with a lavish assortment of treasures in the silent auction and raffle. Each table of donated auction items had its own theme, with categories such as Style & Loveliness, Travel & Leisure and Wine & Dine.

This year, PBMC Health’s nurses were chosen as honorees for their contribution to the growth and success of the hospital. Dr. Peter G. Sultan was named Physician of the Year.

Dr. Sultan, an orthopedic surgeon, is Chairman of the Department for Orthopedic Surgery and Chairman of the Operating Room. Since joining PBMC in 2005, Dr. Sultan has performed thousands of hip and knee procedures and has been recognized as one of America’s Top Surgeons by the Consumers Research Council of America.

All proceeds from the Candlelight Ball benefit Peconic Bay Medical Center Health.
