Citing personal reasons, Greenport school board member Michael Mazzaferro resigned Monday from the seat he’s held since 2008.

During its annual reorganization meeting, the board voted 3-1 to appoint former school board vice president Lisa Murray to serve out the remaining year of Mr. Mazzaferro’s term. Dan Creedon, who was re-elected by the school board Monday night to serve a second year as vice president, cast the lone dissenting vote.

Ms. Murray was first elected in 2009. At the end of her three-term last year, she announced she would not seek reelection due to personal reasons.
