Madlyn Ann Ury

Madlyn Ann Pukies Ury of Cutchogue died peacefully Aug. 24, 2013, at Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport, with her daughter by her side. Ms. Ury was 85 years old.

She was born Aug. 28, 1927, in Springfield Gardens, Queens, to Anna (Goebel) and Edwin Pukies. She met her future husband, Arthur, while working at Ridgewood Savings Bank. They married Nov. 20, 1955. She was a loving wife, devoted homemaker and beloved mother to her only child, Victoria.

Madlyn was predeceased by her husband in March 2011. In addition to her daughter, she is also survived by her sister, Marion Hamilton, and her children, Pam (Tim) and Todd (Mary); her sister-in-law, Carol Freda, and her children, Pamela (William), Andrew (Lisa) and Bradley; and cousins and several close friends.

Cremation was private. Arrangements were entrusted to Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
