Police arrest two Southold residents for DWI Thursday

Two Southold Town residents were arrested for driving while intoxicated Thursday, according to Southold police.

Wendy Chapman, 59, of Peconic was arrested following a single-car crash around 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Skunk Lane and Eugene Road in Cutchogue, police said.

Upon further investigation Ms. Chapman was found to be intoxicated and driving without a license, police said.

She was arrested, transported to police headquarters and held for arraignment.

Around the same time Thursday, officers stopped Ovidio Giron, 39 of Southold on Route 25 in Mattituck for failing to maintain his lane, police said.

Upon further investigation Mr. Giron was found intoxicated with an open alcoholic beverage in his car, police said.

Mr. Giron also did not have a valid driver’s license, according to a police report.

He was arrested, transported to police headquarters and held for arraignment.
