Lillian LaPorte

Lifelong Greenport resident Lillian LaPorte died Oct. 3 at the Riverhead Care Center. She was 83 years old.

She was born Dec. 15, 1929, in Greenport to John and Diamanthe (Mate) Deluca. She worked in the housekeeping department of Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport for 20 years. Family members said she could always be seen bicycling around town.

She is survived by her son, Harry (Georgia); her granddaughters, Lisa (Joe) Patrick of Deer Park and Valerie (Henry) Krause of Southold; and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport, where a funeral service will be held during afternoon hours. A private burial will take place at St. Agnes R.C. Cemetery, also in Greenport.
