Marguerite Thomas

Longtime Mattituck resident Marguerite Thomas died Oct. 31. She was 90 years old.

She was born June 5, 1923, in Long Island City to Frederick and Annette (Prudente) Casey and graduated from Flushing High School in 1941. For 20 years, she was vice president of Flushing Federal Savings and Loan in Flushing.

She married Alphonse Thomas Aug. 6, 1943, in Millbourne, Pa. Family members said she was a member of the Red Hat Society, Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church and the Sigsbee Road Civic Association.

Predeceased by her husband in 1994 and her daughter, Elaine, in 1978, Ms. Thomas is survived by her nephew, William Noel Casey of Grand Blanc, Mich.; her niece, Susan LeBarron of Bensalem, Pa.; three great-nieces; and a great-nephew.

The family will receive visitors Sunday, Nov. 3, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. A funeral service will take place Monday, Nov. 4, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck. Interment will be at Mount Saint Mary’s cemetery in Flushing.
