As we enter the end of fall foliage season, plenty of colors still remain on the branches in the area. Many greens have long faded to yellows, and oranges and reds are poking through before Old Man Winter hits for good.

According to New York State’s fall foliage report, a website run through the state’s Economic Development Department, color changes on leaves are past peak throughout the state, beside New York City. The website, which issues an update every Wednesday in the early fall amid foliage season, printed its last update on Wednesday morning.

The site reports: “New York’s colorful fall foliage season winds down this weekend as the peak colors of autumn reach their final destinations in New York City, according to observers for the Empire State Development Division of Tourism’s I LOVE NEW YORK program.”
