Town to host forum on senior housing options

Southold Town is hosting a free community forum to discuss housing options for seniors.

With 48.2 percent of Southold residents at age 50 and over, the Southold Housing Advisory Commission is sponsoring a meeting that explores current programs that enable seniors to live independently.

“The Town continues to explore ways to improve the lives of the many seniors who call Southold their home,” Supervisor Scott Russell said in a press release announcing the meeting.

Highlights include a presentation on Peconic Landing’s proposed expansion, San Simeon by the Sound’s Adult Day Care program, Family Service League’s HOME Share program and multiple resources offered through the Town of Southold and Suffolk County Office for Aging.

The forum is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Human Resource Center at 750 Pacific Street in Mattituck.
