Henry M. Krupski

Former Southold resident Henry M. Krupski died Oct. 3 at Martin Memorial Hospital South in Stuart, Fla., at the age of 90.

He was born in Southold Jan. 22, 1923, to Vincent and Amelia (Dubovick) Krupski and married Mary Tysko of Springfield, Vt., with whom he celebrated 66 years of marriage this past September. After spending his early years working the family farm on South Harbor Road in Southold, he became employed by the Coca-Cola Bottling Company of New York and subsequently became an independent distributor for the company, servicing a territory that stretched from Southampton to Montauk.

Henry was a member of the Teamsters Soft Drink Union, the Loyal Order of Moose and Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, clamming and, upon retirement, became an avid golfer. His greatest passion, however, was spending time with his wife and family, always teaching and mentoring his children, grandchildren and, ultimately, great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Henry is survived by his daughter, Terri Kudlinski, and her husband, Ted, of Palm City, Fla.; his son, Ray, and his wife, Cissy, of Southold; five grandchildren: Michael Kudlinski of Stuart, Fla., Kevin Kudlinski of Royal Palm, Fla., Melissa Downs of Huntington, Allison Salmaggi of Riverhead and Capt. Matthew Krupski, currently deployed to Afghanistan. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren: Brendon and Timmy Kudlinski, Giana Kudlinski and Jack Krupski.

The family received visitors Oct. 6 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold. A funeral Mass was held Oct. 7 at Our Lady of Ostrabrama R.C. Church in Cutchogue, with interment following at St. Patrick R.C. Cemetery in Southold.
