James William Trestrail of Southold died suddenly Dec. 17, 2013. He was 64.
He was born April 12, 1949, in Queens to William P. and Elizabeth Joan (Gill) Trestrail. Raised and educated in Lindenhurst, he served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Formerly of Lindenhurst and North Babylon, he had lived on the North Fork for the past 10 years and had been a grocer with Pathmark in North Babylon and Waldbaum’s in Mattituck. In his free time, he enjoyed metal detecting.
Surviving are his wife, Daria, and two children, James Jr. and Andrea, all of Southold, and a sister, Linda Joan Trestrail of Lindenhurst.
Graveside services were held Dec. 23 at Calverton National Cemetery, with military honors rendered by the U.S. Army.
Funeral arrangements were handled by DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Homes.
