Louis A. Williamson

Louis A. Williamson of Greenport died Dec. 28, 2013. He was 62.

He was born Sept. 4, 1951, in Key West, Fla., to Cullen West and Mary Ellene (Hall) Williamson. A 1970 graduate of Marathon High School in Florida, he excelled in athletics, was MVP for three years and held the distinction of the most consecutive free throws in a basketball game.

He married Rita Gebhardt in 1980 and together they made their home in Greenport. Louis had been a commercial fisherman.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, L. Adam (Catie) Williamson of Massachusetts, Karen Sue (Matt) Wolfersdorf of Kansas and Grace Ann Williamson, United States Air Force; his stepmother, Mattie Pearl Williamson of North Carolina; a brother, William E. Williamson of Georgia; a sister, Cullene W. Schneider of Louisiana; a granddaughter, Madison Jane Williamson; three nieces; and two nephews.

Mr. Williamson was cremated Dec. 31. Funeral arrangements were handled by DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold.
