Featured Letter: Kill all the deer, swans, and cell towers

To the editor:

“The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers.”

This quote from Shakespeare has been brought to mind by all the letters over the past several weeks regarding quite a few different topics. As usual, in every case there isn’t any middle ground or room for compromise. Even the testimony of experts is cast aside as worthless if it doesn’t support a particular viewpoint, and now the tell-tale word “lawsuit” has raised its ugly head.

All of this begs the question, “What are we to do?” Taking a cue from the Bard I think our course of action is clear: The first thing we do, let’s kill all the deer, all the swans, all the geese, all the cellphone towers, all the summer people, all the hunters, all the cesspools, all who work for the federal government, all the movie studio executives and anyone who had anything to do with developing “Common Core.” I’m sure I’ve forgotten to include a few things but right now I’m all killed out.
