The Greenport Farmers Market is seeking local growers, artisans, chefs, and food trucks interested in selling products at the market this coming season.

Market organizers are now accepting applications for the 2014 season, which will run from May 24 to Oct. 11. Applications received before April 1 will be eligible for a discounted vendor rate.

The market will be at outside the Greenport United Methodist Church on its parking lot on 1st Street, and will feature 26 booths this season — with one dedicated to local artisans, one to local nonprofits, and one for different types of events like kids cooking, guest chefs or interactive classes.

The remainder will be filled by local agriculture and aquaculture related vendors. Organizers also hope to feature different East End food trucks throughout the season.

“We will be host to many of the public’s returning favorites and hope to have some new vendors as well,” Keturah Hurst, market manager said, adding that the market’s board is already working with the local chefs who will be cooking up local flavors each week.
