Southold Town is holding a public hearing Tuesday night regarding a proposed law that would restrict parking on Second Street in New Suffolk during the summer months.

The draft law would prohibit parking on both sides of the street from the south intersection at Main Street to the north and Jackson Street to the south from June through August.

Parking conditions in that area have caused undue congestion, restrictions on access and maneuverability as well as dangerous traffic impacts, according to the proposed bill.

The public will have a chance to weigh in on the idea during the Town Board’s regular meeting Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Meeting Room.
