Cops: Drunk man was driving stolen vehicle in Southold

A 38-year-old Hampton Bays man was found to be drunk driving in a stolen vehicle Saturday evening after he was stopped for driving erratically, Southold Town Police said. 

Jason Capazzola was stopped shortly after 7 p.m. when police received a phone call about an erratic driver heading east on Main Road in Southold. He initially attempted to flee from police by making a turn onto Jasmine Lane, but he ended up turning into a dead end on Blossom Lane, police said.

After the stop, police said they determined he had been driving drink in a vehicle that was stolen in Jamesport.

Mr. Capazzola was charged with DWI and felony possession of stolen property. He was held overnight for a Sunday morning arraignment.
