Boys Track and Field: Swept in relays, Tuckers drop meet

KNIGHTS 84, TUCKERS 56

The Elwood/John Glenn boys track and field team swept the three relay races to wrap up an 84-56 victory over Mattituck in a Suffolk County League VII dual meet on Tuesday in East Northport. 

Jack Dufton and Sal Loverde each took first place in two events for the Tuckers, who finished their dual-meet season with a 1-5 record.

Dufton led from start to finish in the 1,600 meters, winning in 5 minutes 6.1 seconds. He was also the first finisher in the 800 in 2:19.2, and took second in the high jump, clearing 5 feet 6 inches.

Loverde made first-place throws in the discus (134-0) and the shot put (39-0).

Elwood/John Glenn brought its record to 2-3.
