Nadine Louise Faber King

Nadine Louise Faber King of Aquebogue – beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend- returned home May 17, 2014. She was 56. 

Nadine was born to Gloria and Gerard Faber in Brooklyn, May 11, 1958, and grew up in Franklin Square. She graduated Sewanhaka High School in 1976 and earned a Bachelor of the Arts in English Writing Arts from the State University of New York at Oswego in 1980. Nadine married Eugene T. King, Jr. on September 8, 1984.

Nadine most recently worked as an office administrator at Suffolk County Historical Society in Riverhead and East End Seaport Museum and Foundation in Greenport.

Nadine was an active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church in Mattituck and loved her perennial gardens, her two dogs-Pepper and Abby; Disney vacations and above all her family. She led a courageous and inspirational fight against breast cancer for over 12 years.

She is survived by her husband, three children Jacqueline King-Presant, Kayla King and Daniel King; her parents and a sister, Deirdre Aponte.

The family received visitors May 19 at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck. Monsignor Joseph W. Staudt celebrated the Liturgy of Christian Burial May 20 at Our Lady of Good Counsel R.C. Church. Interment was in St. Charles R.C. Cemetery in Farmingdale.

Memorials to St. Joseph’s Indian School, Wounded Warrior Project or Little Sisters of the Poor would be appreciated.
