Cops: Two hospitalized after Laurel car crash

Two people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries following a car crash in Laurel Thursday evening, police said.

A 65-year-old Southold man struck another driver, a 63-year-old Laurel woman, while she trying to turn into the Laurel Post Office from the east bound lane on Route 25, according to a police report.

The man struck the car from behind and both suffered non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Southold Police and Mattituck firefighters responded to the scene around 5 p.m. and both drivers were taken to area hospitals as a result of the crash, police said.
