Helen F. Spicijaric died June 25 at Eastern Long Island Hospital. She was 80. Her husband, John, formerly of Brooklyn, died July 3 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson. He was 81. The Spicijarics were longtime Southold residents.
Ms. Spicijaric was born Oct. 4, 1933, in New York City to Cecilia and John Kraljic. She married John Spicijaric Sept. 23, 1956, and was a homemaker.
Mr. Spicijaric was born March 15, 1933, in Croatia to George Spicijaric and Ana Simonetti-Spicijaric. He was employed by Robert A. Keasby and Company in New York City, where he was a pipe coverer and asbestos worker for more than 40 years.
The Spicijarics are survived by their daughter Janice of North Lindenhurst; their son, John of Nesconset; their daughter Judith of Exeter, N.H.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Services for Ms. Spicijaric were held June 29 at Coster-Heppner Funeral Home in Cutchogue. Services for Mr. Spicijaric were held July 8. A funeral service will be held for the couple Wednesday, July 9, at noon at St. Patrick R.C. Church in Southold. Interment for the Spicijarics will take place at the church cemetery.
