John W. Laird

John W. Laird of Greenport died July 17 at San Simeon by the Sound. He was 62.  

He was born Aug. 9, 1951, in Columbus, Ohio to Jane (Buchman) and W. Frederick Laird and attended Harvard University and Columbia Business School.

Mr. Laird was employed by Seagram Chateau and Estate Wine for 30 years.

He was predeceased by his father and is survived by his mother; his brother, Fritz; his sons, Owen and James and his former wife, Susan Worth.

A graveside service took place July 22 at Orient Central Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Ann Van Cleef.

Memorial donations may be made to San Simeon by the Sound dementia unit.

Arrangements were handled by Horton-Mathie Funeral Home in Greenport.
