Breakfast sandwich enthusiasts, tomorrow is the day you’ve been waiting for: Goldberg’s Famous Bagels will open its doors at 6 a.m. Thursday at Mattituck Plaza, the franchise’s owner said.
“It’s good,” Mark Goldberg said Wednesday afternoon from inside his new Main Road eatery, which is located near Waldbaum’s and Subway. “It’s a busy shopping center with a nice demographic.”
Mr. Goldberg said his new store, which occupies the space vacated by North Fork Bagel Co., features high-top tables and a new oven, flooring and refrigerated cases.
Aside from its fresh bagels, the menu features an array of breakfast sandwiches, omelets, salads, wraps and specialty sandwiches.
The Mattituck shop will be Goldberg’s Famous Bagels’ first store to open on the North Fork. A second location on East Main Street in Riverhead, in the former Woolworth building, still needs to pass inspections and will likely open next week, Mr. Goldberg said.
In addition to its soon-to-open Mattituck and Riverhead locations, Goldberg’s Famous Bagels has 11 stores in New Jersey, as well as one store each in Southampton, East Hampton and Montauk. A Bridgehampton store is also in the works, Mr. Goldberg said earlier this year.
Starting Thursday, Goldberg’s Famous Bagels in Mattituck will be open Monday through Saturday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Breakfast will be served every day until 2 p.m.
