• Artist Michael Combs, whose roots run deep on the North Fork, has recreated a full-size outhouse that can be seen through Sept. 28 on the grounds of Hallockville Museum Farm in Riverhead. It’s part of the Parrish Road Show presented by Parrish Art Museum in Water Mill that features temporary installations by East End artists.

The project, “Outhouse 2014,” was built in the style of a bayhouse or fisherman’s shack, “a place where men, and only men, stayed when they were hunting or waiting for the day’s catch,” Mr. Combs said in a press release. It “replicates the actual primitive latrine that was located at the end of an old dock behind our family’s bayhouse [on the Great South Bay].”

The installation is the working model for the artist’s planned “Self-Portrait 2015,” an outhouse of aluminum and mirrors. It is set near a wood-carving shop used by Mr. Combs’ father, Jack.

• Artwork by Joanne Rosko and Jon Schuesteritsch will be exhibited Aug. 28 to Sept. 8 at Gallery Crossing in Peconic.

Ms. Rosko, a co-owner of the gallery, works in pencil, paint, clay, fabric, glass and metal. “Although focused on painting en plein air, Joanne is also known for her surprising departures into a variety of styles and subject matter,” according to a press release.

Mr. Schusteritsch, an established children’s and family portrait photographer, will exhibit photos that “capture the interactions between dynamic natural light and the beautiful settings of the North Fork.”

An artists’ reception will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30.

• Master printmaker Dan Welden will be on hand at a closing reception for “Intimate Connections,” an exhibit of his recent works, from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30 at The South Street Gallery in Greenport.
