Moe’s Southwest Grill to open in Riverhead Thursday

Burrito lovers rejoice! Moe’s Southwest Grill is opening its Riverhead location tomorrow.

After several months of renovations at its new storefront on Route 58, the eatery best known for its burritos, is opening at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25.

Moe’s will also host a fundraiser for the Riverhead High School Boys Basketball Booster Club from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday with 50 percent of all sales benefitting the organization.

“Residents on Long Island have come to love Moe’s and I believe the Riverhead community will also enjoy our fresh, made-to-order food and family-friendly atmosphere,” said franchise partner, Guy Constantopolis, who also owns the Moe’s restaurants in Hampton Bays and Rocky Point. “We’re excited to introduce ourselves to a new community by supporting an organization that will truly benefit from this event.”

Mr. Constantopolis also owns owns the 7-Eleven at the same traffic circle, as well as 7-Eleven stores in Hampton Bays and East Quogue.

Earlier this year, Moe’s Southwest Grill announced plans to take over the 3,000-square foot space that once housed Ground Round.

Moe’s Southwest Grill is an Atlanta-based franchise that was founded in 2000 and now has more than 500 locations. In a press release, the company describes its restaurants as serving “fresh, made-to-order burritos and Southwest fare in a fun and laid-back environment.”

The menu also features kids, vegetarian and low-calorie options, “all served with free chips and salsa,” according to a company statement.

Moe’s in Riverhead will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Kids Eat Free Every Tuesday night from 5 p.m. to close. For more information, guests may call (631) 740-9152 or visit www.moes.com.
