UPDATE: Southold’s game has been postponed until Tuesday. Check back later for more details.

ORIGINAL STORY: Diamond in the Pines has become an annual destination for the Mattituck boys soccer team. Once again this afternoon, the Tuckers will play for a county championship. This time, looking for their fifth straight title.

Top-seeded Mattituck will play No. 2 Center Moriches at noon for the Class B title in Coram. The time of the game was moved up with poor weather in the forecast.

It’ll be a doubleheader featuring two local teams, as Southold will follow with a game against Pierson/Bridgehampton at 2:30 p.m. for the Class C title. Both games are a $6 admission.

The Tuckers (14-2) advanced to this afternoon’s game with a 3-0 win Wednesday over Southampton. The Tuckers will playing a rematch of last year’s county final, which they won 5-1 against the Red Devils. Kaan Ilgin scored three goals in that win last year.

Mattituck is 2-0 against the Red Devils (13-3) this year, winning both regular season games, 1-0 and 3-1.

Southold will be looking to repeat as county champs as well. The First Settlers, the No. 2 seed, received an automatic bid into the finals against Pierson. The First Settlers will be playing their first game since Oct. 21. Southold split the season series against Pierson, winning 3-2 Oct. 7 and losing 1-0 Sept. 15.

Be sure to check back for recaps on both games.
