Art Beat:’Reflection’ by Mattituck artist Patricia Feiler

• “Reflections,” paintings by Mattituck artist Patricia Feiler, will be exhibited through May 10 at Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center. An artist’s reception is set for 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29.

In a press release Ms. Feiler, a former music educator in the Eastport and Southold school districts, said, “Painting a landscape feels like music to me … There’s a rhythm that is familiar to me in the motion of the brush across the canvas. The process has energy and a crescendo.” Many of her works depict East End scenes: beaches, sailboat races, vineyards and farmland.

• Alex Ferrone Photography Gallery in Cutchogue will present ‘Small Works: The Botanical Exhibit’ from Nov. 29 to Feb. 15. An artists’ reception will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29.

During the exhibit’s run, the gallery will hold a personal care goods drive to benefit Community Action Southold Town. Donations of soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, shaving cream and razors, facial products, moisturizers, toothpaste and toothbrushes, deodorant and more will be accepted.
