Cops: Mattituck man charged with DWI

A 25-year-old Mattituck man was arrested early Wednesday morning for driving while intoxicated after police observed him cross a double yellow line into the oncoming lane of travel, Southold Town police said. 

Andrew L. Faircloth was administered a field sobriety test after police noticed he had an odor of alcohol on his breath, his eyes were bloodshot and glassy and his speech was slurred after he was pulled over on Factory Avenue in Mattituck, police said, at 2:49 a.m.

Mr. Faircloth was arrested and transported to police headquarters to be held for arraignment.
