Art Beat: Photo exhibit on display at Cutchogue New Suffolk Library

• A juried photography exhibit is on view through Feb. 28 at Cutchogue New Suffolk Library. Former Time Life photographer Hugh Patrick served as juror, selecting the 30 pieces on display.

An artists’ reception will be held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24.

• North Fork Community Theatre has named the winners of its first juried art show, for which artists were asked: “What is your vision of North Fork Community Theatre?”

Nancy Willott won best in show for “NFCT #2”; Ann McCaughey, first prize for “Once in a Blue Moon”; Bernie Springsteel, second prize for “North Fork Community Theatre”; and Caryll Ada Batterman, third prize for “North Fork Community Theatre With Cemetery.” The curator and judge was John Phelan.

A portion of all sales proceeds will benefit the NFCT Renovation Campaign and will be doubled by matching funds pledged by Michael and Emilie Corey.

Artwork will be on display through the spring.

• “Love Is Everywhere,” photographs by Kathy Pasca of Mattituck, will be on display Jan. 20 through February at Mattituck-Laurel Library. Her photographic postcards will be shown in the display case.

In a release, Ms. Pasca said, “Through photography, I can share what I see — my vision. I am drawn into another world when capturing images.”

A reception for Ms. Pasca is set for 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25.

• Poet Vivian Eyre will lead ‘Wild Ride: How to Read a Poem’ at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, at Floyd Memorial Library in Greenport.

The program is an introduction for Brunch Poems, a poetry discussion group that will begin Friday, Jan. 30, at the library. Meetings will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon the third Friday of each month. The first discussion will focus on Sharon Olds; on Feb. 27, Pablo Neruda.
