Suffolk deploys ‘entire fleet’ to East End county roads

Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone has issued a travel advisory for the East End effective immediately until further notice due to current weather conditions of high winds and drifting snow, according to a press release.

Suffolk County’s Department of Public Works has deployed its entire fleet to spread salt and sand along all county-maintained roadways and facilities, officials said.

County officials strongly encourage motorists to avoid driving on East End roads due to hazardous conditions.

“If traveling, motorists should be prepared for blowing and drifting snow and use extra caution,” the release states. “According to the National Weather Service, Suffolk County may experience hazardous wind chills Sunday night into Monday morning.”
