Cops: Man arrested for driving drunk with marijuana in his car

An East Northport man was arrested in Southold for driving drunk and having drugs in his car early Monday morning, Southold police said.

Paul R. Faglione Jr., 23, was stopped heading westbound on Route 25 near Hortons Lane around 1 a.m. when he was found to be intoxicated, police said.

According to police, Mr. Faglione was pulled over for traveling at an unsafe rate of speed for the icy and slushy road conditions and for not having headlights.

Officers noticed a he had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, slurred speech, blood-shot glassy eyes and was unsteady on his feet, according to a police report.

Further investigation uncovered marijuana in plain view on the driver’s seat, police said.

Mr. Faglione was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana.
