Cops: After DWI charge, man caught driving without a license

A Mattituck man previously arrested for driving drunk was caught driving without a license following a traffic stop on Monday, Southold police said.

Gonzalo Ramirez-Lopez, 31, was pulled over around 4:21 p.m. on Route 25 in Mattituck and a computer check revealed that the vehicle registration was suspended for not having insurance, police said.

According to police, a second computer check revealed that Mr. Ramirez-Lopez has a suspended driver’s license pending prosecution for a previous DWI arrest.

Mr. Ramirez-Lopez was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and having a suspended registration.
