• As part of its 2015 Fitness Challenge, Eastern Long Island Hospital will hold a Grateful Gathering to accept a $20,000 donation from Mark Miller of Southold and his son Evan. The father and son pledged a dollar to ELIH for each foot of their January climb of Ecuador’s highest peaks. During the event, set for Friday, April 17, 5-7 p.m., at Sparkling Pointe in Southold, Paul Connor and Anthony Mitarotondo will also give a presentation on their recent climb of Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa.
• The annual Eastern Long Island Golf Classic, this year honoring the late John Romanelli, will take place Wednesday, May 13, not May 15 as previously announced.
