Cops: Greenport woman charged with DWI

A 25-year-old Greenport woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after she was observed tailgating another vehicle along Main Road in Cutchogue early Sunday morning, Southold Town police said in a press release. 

After her vehicle was stopped at about 1:45 a.m., Sindi Gatica slurred her speech, had glassy eyes, was unsteady on her feet and “had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath,” police reported. She failed standardized field sobriety tests and a pre-screen breath test administered by an officer, police said.

She was arrested on the misdemeanor charge and transported to police headquarters for processing.
